Reunion ‘91 Revisited in 2018

By Brother Don Henderson, Epsilon Chi ‘62

In 1961, we were having fun! We waved goodbye to Kappa Phi
And said hello
to Sigma Chi

Sigma Chi had it all.
From a local whose time was done, we soared on campus
to number one

Charters were handed out
to but a lucky few,
And to obtain ours,
we had some work to do.

Planning, working and waiting
was half the fun and
in February of ‘61,
it was done!

Remember the night
as we searched for our clues,
Some of us feared, our coveted goal,
we could lose.

As the search ended that night,
The real meaning
of Sigma Chi
came to light

The bus ride, we remember
as if it were yesterday,
The Shamrock Hilton is only a memory,
in more than one way.

Remember the clatter,
as blind through the kitchen
We were led, Peeping under blindfolds
as whispers were said.

The ceremony was impressive
Awesome to all
Goosebumps were plentiful,
as we heard Constantine call.

Then it was all over and
we were  Sigma Chis

Our excitement kept us
all sky high

Can it really be thirty years?
Or did it happen only
Yesterday
The memories are so vivid,
It’s hard to say.

Yesterday, today, tomorrow - forever
The Sigma Chi White Cross of  ‘61
Will always bind our hearts and souls in
eternal, fraternal fun!
