Preview of 1956 Without the 1955
Tigers  By Jack Humphries

Coach Loggins was interviewed by the
Athens Review's Bill Speake about the
upcoming 1956 Football season
without the 1955 Seniors. Also Ken A,
a junior, would graduate. Coach
Loggins reply, "I'll sure be glad when
Basketball season gets here!!"
The first practice after this
pronouncement, Hoss Cope
suggested that we pretend the
Football was a Basketball and dribble
it every chance we got. So we did.
Every time anyone went out for a pass
they stopped the ball and dribbled at
it. Coach Loggins was not impressed.
We paid the price with extra laps, but
our anger carried over to the Mabank
game in which we were heavy
underdogs. We won the game 13-12!!
