The Charter Class of School of the Visual Arts, Savanna, Ga. graduated with
a bagpipe rendition of pomp and circumstance.
Artist's Biography:
Born in Houston, . Bake attended Sayler's elementary, Twin
Creeks Middle and Spring High School in Spring, Texas,
just north of Houston. Blake showed early signs that he
would be talented in art. By the time Blake entered the 9th
grade, he knew what he wanted to do in life. .... Art! He
played soccer with a passion, overcoming a severe knee
injury that resulted in an operation during his 7th grade year.
Again his junior year, while playing soccer, he broke his arm
so severely that bones were sticking out. This ended his
soccer playing days and launched his art career. Blake said,
" I  can not play soccer the rest of my life, but I can do art!"
Blake began his
college art training
with the charter
class of the School
of the Visual Arts
in Savannah,
Georgia in
September, 1994.
He earned a
Bachelor of Fine
Arts from SVA in
May of 1998.
Blake's love  of art
includes drawing,
painting and sculpture.
Drawing is where he
has spent most of his
developmental time,
but sculpture is his
focus. His art work is
entirely original and no
two pieces are ever
alike.
His paintings take on
a sculptured
appearance, showing
depth and design. He
is very good at
drawing exactly what
the subject shows,
but often adds his
own creative designs.
