DON NELSON
Don Nelson was our quarterback for our intramural
football team. He was an all round athlete and pretty
good at all sports. He was one of the married guys
and he at times came to the single guys (Me,Rog,
Rich) Friday night poker games. I remember he was
from Minot North Dakota and recently I watched a
playoff game with a North Dakota college winning. I
think that was Don's home area. The team won the
national championship which they had won several
times before. The reason I watched this game is
because I called an old number that I had for Don
and left a message. He then contacted me with his
other number and said he was not in Minot, but in
Arizona and was watching the playoff game. That is
when I tuned in to the game. I think it is kind of neat
that after more than 50 years you can still have a
conversation with someone you once knew.
