Dr. Duller was our Astronomy professor. He graduated from Rice with a degree in
Cosmic Rays(not sure what) He was a kind man with lots of brain power. We all really liked
him. He was on my Oral exam committee and he tried to help me. I remember having to
skip one of his tests because my dear Grandfather was ill. I went home to be with him and
Dr. Duller graciously allowed me to make up the test when I returned.
One night a star viewing field trip was planned and one of our class members looked
up and pointed out the Big Dipper. Dr. Duller looked up and declared "Oh, I have never
seen that before."
